Building on the success of the Space Racing series the Western Plains Orienteers hosted a successful coaching course on one of the Sappa Bulga maps on Saturday 5th May. The free course was provided by coaches Karen and Sean Hagan for fourteen members who wanted to move to or improve their performance on Moderate level courses. After revising basic skills with the coaches, the participants were encouraged to try a short course first and then a longer course . On returning from each of the courses the participants reflected on their performance and route choice with either Karen or Sean. Participants were encouraged to attend the Goldseekers event taking place on the following day at Ohpir. |

The Western Plains Orienteers had great fun in Queensland. Eight events made up the carnival plus training for juniors.
Although some of us did extra events, the main reason we were there was to compete in the "Australian 3 Days". This is a world ranking championship. There were approximately 600 competitors including many of Australia 's elite orienteers and some foreign visitors. Nine members from the club competed.
